Renard O'Brien

Renard is born in Northern Ireland to Desmond & Sionnach O’Brien. Desmond is ex-military and Sionnach is a retired conductor. At the height of her career Sionnach was diagnosed with a terminal illness forcing her to leave. The medical news brought financial problems upon the O'Brien family. This strain would turn Desmond abusive to everyone he knew. In fear for Renard's safety Sionnach looked for any means to escape her husband.

Then a strange invitation to a peculiar island appeared in the mailbox.

A 14 year old Renard moves into an island with her mother in the Purple District. Although both fo their needs are met this sudden lifestyle change upsets Renard causing her to act out in delinquent behavior. She is placed in a Youth Rehabilitation Program along with other children facing a similar dilemma in hopes she improves. The program will give Renard four years to improve or be kicked from the island. For the next four years Renard is forced to spend time at a dancing school where she meets her mentor Rémi d'Aubigne. It's extremely clear from day one that ballet is not her style. Instead of quitting on the spot Renard puts effort into the program by opting for other dance styles such as ballroom. Sionnach receives treatment for her illness while maintaining a role in a neighborhood music club.

Renard is 16 when she meets Noir in the Youth Rehabilitation program. They get to know each other over the fact they bullied the same kids. Together they become a known menace among their peer group. In a surprising turn of events, Renard's behavior improves to an extent with Noir's friendship. The youth group counselors consider this a win.

Noir's grandfather dies also causing him to relapse in behavior. Out of support for her friend, Renard joins Noir in delinquent activities. At the same time Renard is kicked from the Youth program due to her reaching the age limit and meeting bare minimum expectations. Even with their relapse in behavior a small amount of sympathy is given to Noir due to his circumstance. To avoid Noir being deported Sionnach becomes his legal guardian until he is 18. This event is what really changes Noir and & Renard to behave for the better.

When Renard turns 19 her musical aptitude improves, she chalks this up to being the daughter of a conductor. Behind the scenes the scientists allow Renard to stay on the island despite her past behavior due to her skill advancement. Now that Renard is good enough to play confidently she decides to get a job as a musician for local bars or pubs in the Purple District.

V-Day. Renard initially has no signs of powers manifesting unlike other people around her. It isnt until she got a new job and shook on an under-the-table agreement from the owner did she realize her power. Of course, she takes advantage of this power whenever she can.

Sionnach O’Brien dies due to health complications and inaccessibility to life saving medicine. This makes Renard worse as there is no moral compass in her life anymore. Both Noir and Renard regress into their old personalities and take advantage of a horrible city wide event. In the midst of her mourning Renard and Noir form an unknowing pact of friendship through a shared embrace. As long as their friendship remains true they both greatly benefit from each other's presence.

The Funk Mafia forms. Renard (25) and Noir (23) join. They are actively culling scientists together as lower ranked goons.

X098
Nearly a decade of experience later Renard climbs the ranks of the Funk Mafia. From her service she obtains a white violin with gold trimmings. Although she is not a stepper nor has high Vibe energy, she is challenged by Hide Miyagawa in a throw down for her seniority position. The agreement is if Hide wins he gains her position in the Funk Mafia via her violin, if Renard wins she gets to keep his Vibe. (At the time she wasn't sure if she could even do this nor did she expect Hide to accept the terms). After an intensive violin duel, Hide wins. From then on Renard is demoted back to low-ranking status and is stripped of her privileges.

X099
The War of 99. Renard loses her arm during the war when someone she held a contract with severed it. To this day she doesn't know who it was or how it was broken. For a while rumors went around that Renard lost her powers and was to be casted away as a Square. The appearance of her spectral arm said otherwise.

X101
Solar Flares. For months Renard displays extremely high Vibe energies unlike before. These powers spiral out of control in all the right yet wrong ways. Others in the Funk Mafia who witnessed this power grew to fear her, one in particular being Hide Miyagawa. He accuses her of several false allegations such as lying about her Vibe, being a Vibepyre, and the most egregious of all (to him) holding back during their last encounter in X098. These lead to her exile and brands her with many unsavory titles to follow along.

Flashback event. Renard physically changes to a younger of herself with her arm. It is lost again in the same fashion when the event ends.

X103-113
During the UG vs FM time skip Noir and Renard make their debut business venture. Noir is a proud of his very own strip club while Renard is acting as head of security/muscle for him. They cook illicit drugs underneath their strip club empire. The Court Luxe is known through word of mouth and acts as a club house of sorts for any wandering Bandito.
